Hey faithful readers, all 2 of you...
In Australia, I have a dog. A purebred chocolate labrador named Samantha. She is my best mate. Whenever I went somewhere, she came with me. The front passenger seat of my car was hers. She was and still is my little baby.
Anyways, being over here in Thailand presents a problem. I miss my pooch so much I want to bring her over here. But thankyou Thailand for having rabies. For me to take Sam back home, she has to stay in another country for several months before being quarantined in Australia for another month etc etc. Damn expensive.
Plus if you remember back to one of my posts where I put some pictures of the dogs here, you'd understand when I say I wouldn't want Sam to leave the house for fear of catching something.
I am unsure as to how long I am staying here in Thailand. Originally I was only going to stay one year, get the experience up my sleeve, then go home. I'm still here. My contract here finishes at the end of this year. At this stage I think I will go home. But I just don't know. I now have a girlfriend and she is really nice, and I want to take her back to Oz with me, but I am not sure if I should stay here for another year (on top of this one) just to be sure.
Currently my older Brother is looking after Sam and my house in Oz. But I miss the companionship a dog gives you. So, last week, I brought a dog. Most places over here don;t offer much of a yard, and as stated about Sam, I'm too worried about walking a dog because there are so many mangy mutts around. So I decided I'd get a small dog. What to get? I could get a mollydog or maggiedog, but they yap too much. So I went looking. I found a Pug. Now these dogs are quite mild mannered, and easily trained. Perfect house dog. So I brought one.
His name is Rocky (it is very funny trying to get a Thai to pronounce his name properly, they all say Locky). He is nearly 8 weeks old. I got him last Sunday, and he has taken to my house and girlfriend very quickly. He has already taken over my bed. And tripped me over twice. And poo'd in every room, and so on. But as I say, He's So Freaking Ugly, He's Cute
Attached here you'll see 2 photos of my beloved Sam, and 3 photos of Sam's future 'brother'.
Cheers
