That damn spicy food again.....

I think I made a big booboo tonight. Earlier this year I explained about why put spice in food. You can never taste it because you’re mouth is too busy burning.

And then I said about that fish meal being my favourite. Well, I have discovered that I only like it when it’s spicy.

In Pattaya and places where there are a lot of Farang (caucasions), whenever I have this meal I say pet mahk mahk (very very spicy). Well, they do cook it spicy. For me. They say that when a Farang orders a spicy meal, they go easy because they know farangs can’t really handle the ridgy didge Thai spice. Some can. And the Thai’s are shocked when they do. I can handle the middle to ¾ spice.

Tonight I am sure I copped the real thing. I was sitting at home with the missus watching a DVD when we got hungry. The local restaurant was closed. But our neighbour, lovely lady, offered to make a calll to a local restaurant down the road that will deliver for her seeing as they were good friends. Me being the dickhead said make it pet mahk mahk.

There is a difference between when a farang orders pet mahk mahk and when a Thai does. That difference is around 700 degrees!!!

The fish was damn awesome, probably the best I have ever had, and honestly, it’s the spice that does it. However 40 odd minutes later I’m still soaking my mouth with ice cubes to stop the burning on my tongue. This shit was so bloody hot, I swear my ass was hurting before I took my first bite.

It’s been a few hours since I’ve eaten the fish, and I know I’ll spend most of the night on the loo ‘erupting the volcano’.

It goes to show how spicy it was when my own girl wouldn’t touch it. I think if I’d have said make it a little spicy, it would’ve been the same as what I get in town. That's how much difference there is between Farang Spice and Thai Spice!!!

If I survive tonight with my ass intact, I’ll be having that meal again before I come home for xmas holidays.

I wonder if the Thai restaurants in Albury serve Blah Gow, I’d love to try it out on Mum and Dad……..

Cheers……….
